  1. Hello: I’ve been looking for information online regarding Oklahoma City in the 1930’s and 40’s. My father, Faber Reid, began the Beacon Club. Before that, he was successful in bringing the Oklahoma Club (formerly the University Club) into its own. He came to the Oklahoma Club, via the University Club in Tulsa in the late 20’s. This time period was very interesting and extremely colorful and I can’t find a lot about it. My mother, was always on his arm, and as I understand it, there were several formal ballrooms in the Oklahoma Club. They were truly glory days in Oklahoma City….society parties, every other day. My dad was one of the three Poor Boys, the other two, Frank Buttram and Emmett Barbee. Are you interested and/or familiar in any of this? If so, I would love to hear from you. Thank you. Sarah

    • If we are talking about the same Faber Reid’ he is my great great uncle. I am trying to put together a family tree and am very interested in what you have to say.
